Members of militant organization Karapatan held a protest action in Quezon City on Saturday, Independence Day, calling on China to leave the West Philippine Sea.
With signs and placards emblazoned with the words "Atin ang Pinas! China layas!" and "Duterte Wakasan!", Karapatan held the protest action at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, according to a 24 Oras News Alert report.
The group also proceeded to the Chinese Consulate to convey their message.
Karapatan called on Filipinos to uphold the country's sovereignty amid incursions by China in the West Philippine Sea.
The Philippines marks the 123rd Independence Day on Saturday. Flag raising and wreath laying activities were held in Manila and other areas. —KG, GMA News
