ABS-CBN has been in the Philippine media for 65 years.
However, the media giant has gone off the air last week after the National Telecommunications Commission sent a 'cease and desist' order to the Kapamilya network.
The order sent by the NTC has led various celebrities to join the online rally event Laban, Kapamilya to express their support for their home network.
Following this news, we learned that a former employee from ABS-CBN has recently revealed some information about the Kapamilya network in an online video.
Journalie Payonan, a former cameraman from ABS-CBN, has recently spoken up about the Kapamilya network as well as Ang Probinsyano star Coco Martin.
According to Payonan, he decided to create a video after watching the various artists under ABS-CBN air their frustration over the 'cease and desist' order given to the network.
In the video, Payonan shared that he first became a cameraman for the Kapamilya network back in 1997 up until 2002 where he did not get any benefits.
He also mentioned that other employees who worked for the company for over a decade, eventually joined him to file a case against ABS-CBN.
"Bago po ako nagdemanda ng 2002, nilapitan ko yan sila Noli de Castro, Ted Failon. Sila po yung mga, kumbaga nagpaalam ako, nag-abiso ako na, "Sir tulungan niyo po ako kasi magfa-file po ako ng case kasi hindi pa po ako nare-regular,"" he said.
The case eventually lasted until 2010 where they eventually won in the Court of Appeals. During that year, ABS-CBN also offered them a contract.
However, according to Payonan, they were suddenly forced to leave the company, "Sapilitan kaming tinanggal."
Aside from this, Payonan shared the alleged story behind how they were illegally dismissed, "Ano ang pinagiba namin na 100+ kaming illegal na tinanggal?
"Pinakain sa magagarang hotel, at pagkatapos pinakain, mabusog. Ang iba nagbihis pa, talagang nagtodo postura pa dahil akala nila "wow parang promotion 'to."

Payonan's story is similar to that of the story that Jobert Sucaldito shared in his lengthy online post about ABS-CBN as well.
The former cameraman eventually asked Coco as well as the other artists where they were during that moment.

"Para kang manok na naglilimlim, binugaw, nagtatakbo, putak ng putak ng hindi mo alam ang sinasabi mo. Dapat bago ka magsalita, tinimbang mo muna lahat.
"Sa panahon na ito, hindi lang ikaw ang apektado't walang trabaho. Wag mo idamay yun buong mamamayan, wag mo idamay. Lahat tayo eh, tulad ako, wala nga akong trabaho ngayon eh."
As reported earlier, entertainment columnist Jobert Sucaldito took to social media to share his two cents regarding the ABS-CBN shutdown. In his lengthy online post, Jobert asked the Kapamilya network to stop using their employees as a "human shield."
